International Translation Day has been celebrated since September 30, 1991. But do do we know when and how this day started to be celebrated?

As “Avrasiya” Translation Center, in this article we decided to inform you on the day dedicated to us.
International Translation Day was created by The International Federation of Translators (IFT). On this day translators, linguists, students of translation faculty, writers and totally all members of language industry unite with all translators in the world to celebrate this day.
Translation has already been a profession that is in great demand in the era of progressive globalization. There is a great impact of translators in uniting different nations and strengthening peace, development and understanding.
Some quotes dedicated to translation and translators:
“Without translation, I would be limited to the borders of my own country. The translator is my most important ally. He introduces me to the world.”
– Italo Calvino

Writers make national literature, while translators make universal literature.
-Jose Saramago

The translator is a privileged writer who has the opportunity to rewrite masterpieces in their own language.
-Javier Marías

As “Avrasiya” Translation Center, we celebrated this special day with our colleagues and on behalf of our center, we congratulate our colleagues around the world and wish them success in their work. We wish you a future full of success, Dear Translators!
